Leaf Stripping - What & Why?
Before harvest, we remove some of the leaves around the grape bunches. This is called leaf stripping. It helps the grapes by:
Keeping them healthy - better airflow reduces the risk of rot and mildew.
Helping them ripen - more sunlight reaches the fruit, improving flavour and colour.
Makes picking easier - bunches are easier to see and harvest.
It’s a simple but important job that really makes a difference to the quality of the wine.
