Daphne, Lady Heald - who, with her husband Lionel, took over Chilworth Manor in 1946 - was Chairwoman of the National Garden Scheme for 30 years. Chilworth Manor has continued to support the National Garden Scheme Open Gardens since 2008.
On Sunday 19th May, you can come and explore the 18th century terraced walled garden, topiary, herbaceous borders and ancient ponds whilst enjoying Chilworth Manor Brut Rosé, still Rosé and Classic Cuvée, served by the glass or bottle at our pop-up bar.
Proceeds from ticket sales go to the wonderful nursing and health charities supported by the NGS, including Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Cure and Hospice UK.

This year, the much anticipated NGS Chelsea Plant Sale is taking place at Chilworth Manor on Saturday 1st June. This is your chance to browse and buy a wide selection of the perennials chosen for the National Garden Scheme show garden at RHS Chelsea Flower Show by the award-winning garden designer Tom Stuart-Smith and Peter Clay, co-founder of online nursery Crocus.
We're honoured to be hosting this prestigious event and we'll be serving our premium quality sparkling and rosé wines by the glass or bottle at our pop-up bar.

This year we’re giving you the option to book a vineyard experience alongside a Picnics & Pinks ticket for Friday 28th June and Saturday 29th June.
As well as an introduction to the history of the Manor and the vineyard, you'll have a chance to enjoy a full afternoon tea on Friday and a tour & tasting on Saturday prior to enjoying an evening of music in the walled gardens of Chilworth Manor.

Taste our Chilworth Manor Brut Rosé and Classic Cuvée and enjoy a full afternoon tea, including sandwiches, scones and cakes, in the stunning setting of The Watch House, our new tasting barn.
The experience is scheduled to last from 3.30-5.00pm, giving you plenty of time to join the queue heading up to the Manor to enjoy an evening of music and wine at Picnics & Pinks.
The package is for the afternoon of Friday 28th June and includes two tasting glasses and a full glass of sparkling wine, as well as entry to Picnics & Pinks later that evening.
On the tour, starting at 3.30 pm, you can see and learn about our vines, their growth cycle and the winemaking process, as well as hearing about the fascinating history of Chilworth Manor.
After a short walk around the vineyard we’ll return to The Watch House, our new tasting barn named for the original watch house that once stood in our fields. With its stunning views over the vineyard and across to St Martha's Hill, it's the perfect spot to try our sparkling wines and still rosé, together with some specially prepared complimentary pairing bites.
You can then head up to the Manor to enjoy an evening of music and more wine at Picnics & Pinks on Saturday 29th June.
Festive cheer in a stunning setting
Christmas at Chilworth has come a long way since the children used to sell 50 trees in front of the house!
To meet the ever-growing demand for our trees, this year we're creating more space and giving you more time to enjoy festive glogg, hot chocolate and wine produced from the very vines you're looking at, available at our pop-up bars.
We'll have children's walks and other fun activities too. You'll be pleased to know we also have more parking!
The dates for 2024 are the 30th November & 1st December and 7th & 8th December, please take a note for your diaries.
We'll be releasing slots for booking from early November, so please check back then, or sign up to our mailing list to stay up to date.
Feel the echoes of Chilworth’s rich layered history this Christmas. As the voices of the 11th century Chilworth monks used to be raised in plain song, now we plan to sing Christmas carols together in the vineyard, with festive glogg, hot chocolate and wine produced from the very vines you're looking at.
