Words & Wine with Damon Hill and Roger Black

Vintage 1996

In our first Wine & Words double act, two of Britain’s greatest Sports stars of the nineties (who now both live within walking distance of Chilworth Manor Vineyard!) will join us to reminisce about their parallel careers over a glass of wine at The Watch House.

1996 was the year in which Damon achieved his dream of becoming Formula 1 World Champion while Roger achieved his of standing on the 400m Olympic rostrum in Atlanta.

Whilst sprinting and motor racing clearly have many distinctions, the drive, determination, and associated pressures to be the best on any global stage serve as a common thread for what is sure to be an unforgettable evening of Words & Wine.

Our Words & Wine experiences all include free-flowing Chilworth Manor Wine throughout the evening and canapés before and after the talk. A percentage of any additional bottle sales go to a charity or local cause as chosen by our guests. Damon and Roger have chosen to support The Halow Project, a fantastic charity local to Surrey which supports adults with autism and learning difficulties to live their best life.

  • Complimentary Chilworth Manor Sparkling Wine throughout the evening and canapés before and after the talk.
  • The chance to sit back and relax in a beautiful setting whilst listening to stories told by two Sporting Greats!
  • Opportunity to enter our draw to win a case of Chilworth Manor Wines in support of The Halow Project
