Green Harvest - What & Why?

Green harvest is when we remove some of the grape bunches from the vines before they ripen. In the UK, our cooler climate means the vines can sometimes carry more fruit than they can ripen properly.

By cutting away the extra bunches:
The remaining grapes ripen better - with more sugar, flavour, and colour.
The vine stays healthy - less strain on the plant as harvest approaches.
Quality improves over quantity - fewer bunches, but better wine.

It’s all about focusing the vine’s energy on producing the best grapes possible.
