As you might know we picked our very first grapes in 2016 and, though the quantities were small, they were enough to produce our First Step Rosé and Sparkling as part of our 2016 vintage wines.
The sparkling wine has been maturing on the lees for four years now and it was a very exciting moment ont Saturday when we popped open the first bottle after almost 7 years from when the vines were planted. We are very pleased with the result of our Classic Cuvée Brut Nature, using the classic method and made with 40% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir and 20% Pinot Meunier grapes.
As with our First Step Rosé we will not be selling any of this small stock, but instead use it to showcase what is to come from our following vintages and celebrate the next step by giving you the chance to win a bottle of our First Sparkling Step.
We will be launching our 2017 vintage sparkling wine late next year. As they say ... good things come to those who wait.
