  • The layers of soil beneath our vineyard give our grapes their unique taste comparable with a Provence style pale rosé.  Chilworth Manor Brut 2017 vintage is made from hand-picked Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes which started their life growing on a sheltered and gentle south-facing slope adjacent to the Manor. The naturally fertile sandy loam lies on a base of sandstone, part of the Hythe formation.

The grapes were planted in 2014 and although a first harvest was achieved in 2016, we decided to make them benefit from another full growing season before bringing our first Still Rosé to market to ensure better quality and maturity of the wine.

  • 2017, despite some challenging frost events on the back of a very early budburst, ended by producing a crop with good sugar levels and a steadily falling acidity, a balance that allowed us the opportunity to pick the grapes for our sparkling wine at just the right time and only use the superior first gentle press of juice for our Brut 2017.

Chilworth Manor Brut 2017 is bottled by Litmus

  • Charity has long been an important part of Chilworth Manor and it remains central to our ethos today. The vineyard is committed to continue this ethos and will support Mary's Meals, a charity that aims to provide chronically hungry children with one meal every school day to encourage school attendance. This in turn improves the children's level of education that can lift them out of poverty in later life.

Chilworth Manor Brut 2017

Chilworth Manor Brut 2017 is made from hand-picked Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, using only the superior first gentle press of juice. Bright golden in colour with a brilliant hue and a small persistent mousse it displays complex and toasty characters on the nose derived from an extended 42 months in bottle on the lees. These mature notes are carried over onto the palate with layers of brioche and strawberry with a searingly fresh and balanced acidity that leads to a long and rewarding finish.

In keeping with the spirit of Chilworth Manor, we support Mary's Meals who provide one good meal per school day to some of the poorest children in Malawi schools.
